The Reality of Posting in the Trades:
A Message to the Keyboard Critics
When we started posting our work online, we knew exactly what was coming. Opinions, criticism, and a whole lot of noise from people who feel real comfortable behind a screen.
That doesn’t bother us.
What’s worth talking about is the kind of criticism we see.
Because there are a million ways to get a job done in the trades. Anyone who actually works in the field knows that. Different jobs, different conditions, different solutions. It’s not one-size-fits-all, no matter how badly some people want it to be.
But instead of sharing knowledge or offering a better way, a lot of the guys in the comments go straight to disrespect.
Not teaching.
Not helping.
Just tearing people down.
That tells you everything you need to know.
People who are winning don’t spend their time trying to make other people look small. The guys doing that are usually frustrated, stuck, or looking for a quick ego boost at someone else’s expense.
And somehow, they think a 30-second clip makes them an expert on a full job.
Let’s be clear.
We’ve built three businesses over 20 plus years. We’ve delivered hundreds of millions of dollars in work. Our guys are trained, experienced, and know exactly what they’re doing.
You’re not seeing the whole job. You’re seeing a moment.
You’re not seeing the site conditions, the customer requirements, the prep, or the conversations that led to that exact approach.
You’re seeing what we chose to show you.
Yes, sometimes our guys are in socks. That’s because the homeowner said no shoes in the house.
Yes, sometimes they’re in shorts. It’s South Florida. It’s brutally hot. We’re not pretending it’s 65 degrees on a jobsite.
Yes, we provide PPE. And we also trust our team to use it when it matters. We don’t babysit grown professionals just to make strangers in the comments feel better.
Here’s the part most people are missing.
We’re not posting for approval.
We’re posting because the skilled trades deserve respect, and most people have no idea what goes into the work that keeps their homes and buildings functioning every day.
The number of tradesmen actually putting their work out there is small. Real small.
So if one video helps someone understand the grind, respect the craft, or feel seen in this industry, that’s a win.
If that bothers you, keep scrolling.
But if you’re going to comment, bring something of value. Bring knowledge. Bring experience. Or don’t bring anything at all.
Because we’re going to keep showing the work.
We’re going to keep putting our guys out there.
And we’re going to keep building, with or without your approval.
