Twenty years ago, my family took a leap of faith that changed everything.
My name is Keith Daubmann, and I’ve spent over two decades in the glass industry. What started as a small family operation has grown into something we never imagined but always hoped for. My brother, father, mother, and I worked our asses off…and I mean around the clock to build what we have today. When people say “it must be nice” or “you got lucky,” I’ll be straight with you: there was no luck. We started with next to nothing and built it brick by brick, shift by shift.
Today, we run MY Shower Door, our retail brand that serves homeowners and contractors throughout Florida. Our manufacturing arm, D3 Glass, produces tempered and laminated glass for shower enclosures, glass railings, office partitions, wine cellars, tabletops, mirrors—you name it. And MY Architectural Glass handles our commercial and architectural projects (glass railings, glass wine enclosures, frameless glass office partitions, & more). Our manufacturing facility is in Fort Myers, and our first showroom, the one we opened all those years ago, is still running strong in North Naples, with more showroom locations scattered across Florida & most recently, Charlotte North Carolina.
But this blog isn’t a sales pitch. It’s something different.
I’m starting this because I want to share the real story..the kind of stuff nobody posts about. The daily grind of running a business in the skilled trades. The wins that don’t make headlines and the struggles that keep you up at night. I want this to be a place where guys like us can share what we’re going through, celebrate the small victories, learn from each other’s mistakes, and remind ourselves why we do this.
Because here’s the truth: our kids remember the hours we weren’t home. But they’ll spend their whole lives benefiting from the work we put in. That’s what makes it worth it.
This is our legacy. And I’m glad you’re here for it.
Welcome.
